If you'd like to add high-resolution music playback to your NAD or integrated amp, NAD's Modular Design Construction (MDC) makes it easy. Just install the MDC DAC 2.0 module into the amplifier's rear MDC compartment. Then you'll be ready to start enjoying high-resolution music from your computer. The DAC 2.0's asynchronous USB input allows you to stream high-res tunes from your connected computer. It's compatible with files with resolution up to 24-bit/192kHz, so you can enjoy downloads from HDtracks and other sites with all the detail and depth they offer. There's also an optical digital audio input — great for connecting your Blu-ray player or even a TV. It's also a great way to connect an or, so you can take advantage of this device's audiophile-grade Cirrus Logic digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for uncompromised sound quality.
Features Modular Design Construction (MDC): Modular Design Construction (MDC) makes future upgrades possible with interchangeable, upgradeable modules. Compatibility: The MDC DAC 2.0 Module is compatible with NAD's C 375BEE and C 356BEE integrated amplifiers. An appropriate cable is included for each specific amplifier. Note: This DAC module is only compatible with C 375BEE units that have the 0.5W standby logo on the rear-panel. Cirrus Logic CS4398 DAC: The MDC DAC 2.0 Module employs a Cirrus Logic CS4398 high-resolution digital-to-analog converter that supports up to 24-bit/192kHz high-resolution music files.
Asynchronous USB (Type-B) Port: The MDC DAC 2.0 Module is ready for the world of computer audio with its asynchronous USB (type-B) input that can directly stream 24-bit/192kHz content from your Windows PC, Mac computer, or other network-attached storage device (NAS). Your computer will need to meet the following system requirements. Windows PC Users: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 or higher, Microsoft Windows 7. The optical digital input supports audio sampling rates up to 24-bit/96kHz. The module's switch must be set to Optical.
Input Selector Switch: Slide this switch to select the active input on the DAC module; either Optical for S/PDIF, USB for computer audio, and Phono for vinyl playback (if applicable). Note: For the NAD C356BEE, the Phono input cannot be selected as an active input since only one MDC module can be installed; and neither the C356BEE or the MDC DAC 2.0 Module is fitted with a Phono input.
